Five Ways to Reduce Phosphorus Intake in Your Turf Program
See products and services for lawn care professionals.

Benefits
The Injection Partnership Plan (IPP) serves as the golf industry's first turnkey injection solution. The program grew from our dedication to find new ways to help golf course professionals like you get more out of their course maintenance program.
We spent some time brainstorming answers to this question:
"How can we help our customers reduce costs while increasing course playability and appearance without requiring the need to make any capital investments?"
The ultimate solution is the Injection Partnership Plan, which incorporates the economic, ecological and agronomic benefits of injection technology and matches them with a program that requires no capital investment.

Economic Benefit
- Price-per-acre advantage. We will show you a significantly lower price-per-acre comparison for liquid application versus granular. This is done using several traditional fertilizer combinations as well as water quality products that might be applied through a sprayer.
- Labor advantage. There is zero cost of labor to apply injectable products, which allows you to use those labor dollars elsewhere. In essence, you gain back all the lost dollars that occur when you have to allocate manual labor to apply granular products.
- Product savings. We will show the cost incurred by nutrient volitization when using a high percentage of expensive slow release material.
- Reduced water and power usage. More efficient irrigation and water quality results in reduced water and power usage.
"I can apply all the same nutrients that I used to have to do with 3 or 4 workers in the early hours of the morning with no labor costs and at half the per-acre cost of a fairway mini grade."
- Bill Lewis; Bulle Rock Golf Club, Aberdeen, Maryland
Efficiency Benefit
- Off-peak application. Turfgrass nutrients applied during early morning/nighttime hours allow efficient course maintenance without interference with your customers’ experience on the course.
- Increased control. One of the most important applications made by a golf course manager is completed with accuracy every time without concern over misapplication with manual labor.
- Combo delivery. Plant nutrients are delivered in tandem with irrigation application which results in an all-in-one process.
- Labor efficiency. There is an increase in the productivity of the workforce when injectables are implemented. They are now freed up to doing other projects on the management list.
- Reduced water and power usage. More efficient irrigation and water quality result in reduced water and power usage.
"We try to provide an exceptional golfing experience at our resort that is uninterrupted by the maintenance efforts of our crew. Injection technology allows normally daytime applications to be done long before the sun comes up."
- Bruce Bailey; Pines Course at Marriott Seaview Resort, Galloway, New Jersey
Ecological Benefit
- Reduced nutrient loss. The risk of granular run-off is reduced because nutrients are absorbed directly into the plant. This also reduces the contamination of ponds and lakes that are often dealing with excessive nitrate levels resulting in algae blooms, and poor water quality.
- Reduced equipment and fuel usage. Automatic application through our injection system means you need less equipment for traditional manual application. Less heavy equipment means reduced fuel usage as well.
- Reduced water and power usage. More efficient irrigation and water quality results in reduced water and power usage.
"Most of this property is built on a sand pit that drains rapidly into the ground. Injection technology allows us to put out just the right amount of plant nutrients now without excessive nutrients that may run-off or leach into aquifers."
-
Andrew Franks; Scotland Run GC, Williamstown, New Jersey
Agronomic Benefit
- Course consistency. Whether applying plant nutrients, water quality material or wetting agents, your course conditions response to this "blanket" application will be an overall improvement in turfgrass quality and consistency. Green and tee complexes, roughs and approaches will have a significant improvement in turf density, color and general plant health because they are now receiving the nutrients on a regular scheduled program.
- Tournament preparations and recovery. Injection technology allows the superintendent to deliver products such as iron (Fe) and other micronutrients that will provide a quick "color" blast prior to an important golf event or as a recovery application following a tournament.
"For me, fertigation has produced the most consistent playing conditions you could imagine. The areas that were the hardest for me to get to on a regular basis are now getting regular nutrition they need and it shows!"
- Steve Friedel, Golf Course Superintendent Hershey Mills Golf Club
